Overview
  • Provide Couchbase & sync gateway technical leadership for PFNA's critical SalesHub+ and Sales+ systems
  •  Ensure Governance, Disaster recovery, monitoring and alerting for critical Hand Held systems Couchbase NoSQL Database and sync gateway
  • Ensure Controls for Couchbase Database
  • Ensure Data Integrity and security
  • Build effective tools to improve, automate eventing jobs on Couchbase Database
  • Automate repeatable DB tasks, day-to-day operational activities (security, index maintenance, backups, disaster recovery, installations)
  • Requires to be a part of highly collaborative environment working with other skilled professionals to continuously improve database architecture and execution.
  • • Build effective tools to improve capabilities and improve System Reliability including issue detection, monitoring and alerting

Responsibilities
  • Technical leadership in the Couchbase and Sync gateway for PFNAs critical SalesHub+ and Sales+ systems
  • Lead Coordinate with the development teams to promote a cohesive enterprise approach to inter and intra application integration of enterprise data.
  • Facilitation of Product Lifecycle Management: Coordination with all technical and business resources in the analysis, design, development, and implementation of Production Systems.
  • Install new Couchbase database releases and related software tools to evaluate in test/dev environments, eventually promote to production- Manage/Main Couchbase clusters in Development, QA and Production
  • Apply software patches and upgrades to server software for Couchbase Database to stay in compliance with PepsiCo security standards and performance
  • Analyze and resolve complex technical problems, including performance tuning, and debugging
  • Monitor database backups and maintain automated disaster recovery procedures
  • Plan database and server level capacity according to statistics and user requests- Ensure our infrastructure and security scales with our growth
  • Continually improve availability, scalability, performance and automation of our services
  • Ensure reliability and uptime of critical systems.
  • Hands-on approach in addressing issues, outages, and new solutions
  • Work with a distributed team of engineers across all layers of the product
  • Coaches and mentors’ junior resources in Couchbase operational activities
  • Promote effective knowledge management across the Global Production Support Teams.
  • Effectively communicate issues and status updates with business users, development teams and Global Support Lead.
  • Effectively handle communications across business and technology partners at varying levels across a medium to large scale enterprise.
  • Use Service Now or other similar issue tracking system to follow ITIL practices
  • Provides leadership, guidance to collaborate and drives issue resolution process.
  • Work with PepsiCo and Managed Service Vendor teams on continuous improvements
Qualifications
  • 5+ Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g. Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, OpenStack, etc.).
  • 5+ Production experience with following highly desired: Couchbase, Couchbase Sync Gateway, Cassandra
  • 3+ DBA experience in Relational Databases
  • Experience with Couchbase data modeling.
  • Working knowledge of Zookeeper, Kafka, or other NoSQL Databases.
  • Expertise in database administration including configuration, implementation, data modeling, maintenance, redundancy/HA/DR, security, troubleshooting/performance tuning, upgrades, database, data and server migrations, SQL
  • Thorough understanding of Security implementations (IAM, SSL, encryption, firewall, wall garden) on Database, storage, network and Cloud environments
  • Experience with both Windows and Linux Operating Systems.
  • Comfortable debugging network, disk, performance bugs in complex distributed systems
  • Prior experience in large scale enterprise application support, capacity planning, optimization, re-engineering, performance fine-tuning and cost optimization
  • Demonstrate accountability, independent initiatives and willingness to lead and work with teams across multiple locations and time-zones
  • Experience working within an on-shore/off-shore support environment
